Counting

My girl can count!

She was pointing to the fishes on her storybook this evening and counting them.
It went something like this:

" UM, ERM, TWEE, OR, UM, EGG, EH-EN, UM, EY, EN!!"

Although it is still essentially gibberish, we were totally gobsmacked by two things:

1) She actually knows that "seven" is made up of 2 syllabus
2) She knows that you have to have an emphatic ring to the number ten.

At this rate, i forsee that she'll be negotiating ways to get out of doing things really soon. I'd better catch up on my reading about disciplining children.
